I'm Heidi Toone, a female construction company owner for over 16 years, and certified business strategist. I'm passionate about helping the overlooked & under-valued female workforce in the construction industry, gain the skills they need to make their business work better for them!

The Struggles...
Having worked on and off site in both the private and public sector, working predominantly in the challenging Disability & Vulnerable persons environment (read below for more about my experience), I know how demanding and tough it can be.
Finding time to work ON my business and me personally, while I was working IN it was hard - really HARD! Let alone the small issue of being female in a predominantly male world.

MY STORY - How I started in Construction
BEFORE I started running the family building firm in 2010 I worked as an Environmental Scientist on various industrial sites, managed projects, worked to strict Health & Safety procedures, and followed global management processes. THEN I got married, and
After I joined the construction firm I spent my life working on-site; my office became a van; I worked crazy long hours, and all while trying to provide the best possible service to a range of clients with no previous experience, and having no clue what world I married into!
12 MONTHS later I had learned about the stress, the toxic banter (as I call it), the prejudice, and family dynamics in business
BUT I also learned about what can make you successful when the demands are high, and your morale is low - the RIGHT Business Skills!
Using Business Strategy helped me create consistent work systems, create high customer care standards, sustain a volume of quality work, improve cash flow & improve both mine & my husbands' work-life balance.
